IntenseServers is one person and hardware we own, in South Africa, and it stays here. Plans pay for the servers. Contributions go to the protection, capacity and network that turn a local host into the one the big publishers call.
The vision
- 01 Official servers, hosted here Too many of the big titles still put South African players on a server in Europe, or on none at all. The goal is to be the host Rockstar, Epic, Respawn and the rest call when they want servers in South Africa: our hardware, our network, their game.
- 02 Stay local No nodes overseas. Every rand goes into the rack in central South Africa and the network in front of it, so the ping stays low for the people who live here.
- 03 Publisher-grade before the publishers arrive A publisher looks for three things: capacity to spare, protection that holds, and a network that is ours. The list below is those three, in the order they are needed.
Where contributions go, in order
- 01 DDoS protection Always-on filtering at the upstream edge, so an attack on one server takes nothing else down. No publisher puts a server behind a line that can be knocked over.
- 02 More uplink Capacity into the rack ahead of demand, so a title landing here does not share a line with everyone already on it.
- 03 The next node Another Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5 and NVMe, racked beside the first two. The same hardware every client already runs on.
- 04 Our own addresses, live A /24 and an ASN that route under our own name, so every address belongs to IntenseServers and moves with it.
